Welcome to San Antonio and the 48th annual San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium®!
As co-directors of the Symposium, we are honored to greet the more than 11,000 attendees representing more than 100 countries joining in-person or virtually for four days of robust, diverse programming and events.
As the preeminent international scientific meeting for breast cancer research, SABCS is the destination for clinicians, researchers, and advocates from around the globe to gather and connect.
At the center of the symposium are presentations by field-leading experts, clinical and translational workshops, panel discussions, debates, and special topic focuses that will provide overviews and deep dives into the most recent and most relevant clinical and research developments.
This year’s Special Sessions will cover timely subjects such as the relationship between alcohol, the genetics of alcohol metabolism, and breast cancer risk; the latest updates and debates in the diagnosis, classification, and treatment of lobular breast cancer; and the specific biological aspects, management considerations, and ethical questions in the treatment of young women with breast cancer.
Additional insights and perspectives on a range of themes will be present throughout the program through 15 educational sessions, clinical workshops, panel discussions, and the voices of patient advocates.
The SABCS has long championed and benefitted from highlighting the perspective of patient advocates, who will be involved in all major sessions and represented in the Advocacy Pavilion, part of the dynamic and engaging Exhibition Hall.
Patients, clinicians, researchers, educators, industry supporters — we all gather to grow and develop our knowledge and connections in the field of breast cancer.
We are grateful to members of the Executive, Program Planning, and Abstract Review committees for their dedication to and support of the SABCS. We honor the staff, the presenters, moderators, sponsors, and exhibitors for their time and efforts to carry out this premier gathering for breast cancer research and treatment.
And we are delighted that you have joined us. Whether this is your first SABCS or one of many, you will be among like-minded peers who share your personal and professional dedication to breast cancer science, treatment, and advocacy.
And so we gather, pooling our knowledge and experience toward our common mission of diagnosing, preventing, treating, and — one day — discovering cures for breast cancers.
Together, that is possible.
