Family comes first: Child care available at SABCS® in 2023

The 2023 SABCS® not only focuses on breast cancer science but also provides support for attendees with families, creating an inclusive environment for breast cancer clinicians, researchers, and patient advocates to engage in the Symposium’s sessions and events while accommodating their children.

For the first time, child care will be available during the Symposium for children ages 6 months to 12 years in Room 301BC of the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. Parents and caregivers can learn more about child care services and register online in advance. Walk-in registration also will be available at the convention center, but advance registration by November 7 is recommended to ensure a spot. Onsite registrations will be based on space availability. The rate is $10 per hour, which is subsidized at 50% by SABCS®.

Child care hours (subject to change):

Tuesday, December 5—8:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
Wednesday, December 6—6:30 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
Thursday, December 7—6:30 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
Friday, December 8—6:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, December 9—7:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Nursing mothers will also have dedicated space. Two private rooms will be available, with one on the lobby level between Halls 3 and 4 and one on the second level near Room 215. Rooms will be equipped with comfortable furniture and a table, power outlets, wastebaskets, and paper towels. Restrooms are located nearby. Convention center staff members will be on hand to monitor and refresh the rooms throughout the day.
