For the second year, the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium® invites all attendees to attend an evening celebration with music, dancing, and refreshments.

Organized by Mays Cancer Center, the December 11 event, 8 to 10:30 p.m. at the Grand Hyatt Texas Ballroom, is a chance for “everyone to network, collaborate, and informally meet one another,” said Mary Jimenez, who is spearheading the celebration and serves as Chair of the Community Outreach and Engagement Advisory Board for the Mays Cancer Center at UT Health San Antonio.
Light hors d’oeuvres and one complimentary beverage per attendee will be provided at this open networking event. Philip Chancellor and DJ 5150 Productions will spin music while dancer David “The Dancing Guy” Callahan will be on the floor to perform his moves and lead the crowd in line dancing and other dances.
SABCS® co-director Virginia Kaklamani, MD, will address the gathering with heartfelt words of gratitude and recognition.
“The presentations, discussions, and insights shared at SABCS® have helped define the standard of care for our field, and the Celebration is an opportunity to recognize all who have been a part of this and to forge new connections in continuing this progress,” Dr. Kaklamani said.

Jimenez emphasized that while SABCS® provides structured networking throughout the conference — from exhibit hall gatherings to breakout sessions — the Celebration provides a uniquely relaxed environment specifically designed for cross-sector collaboration among patient advocates, industry professionals, key opinion leaders, healthcare practitioners, research scientists, academic leaders, and other stakeholders.
According to Jimenez, the venue welcomes entire teams while maintaining an informal ambiance that promotes spontaneous exchanges about professional experiences, ideas, and expertise. This collaborative setting facilitates deeper conversations and stimulates innovative solutions.
