Researchers with highly significant and timely findings have another opportunity to present their science at the 2026 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium®. Late-breaking abstract submissions are open Tuesday, September 1, through Wednesday, September 30, at 11:59 p.m. CT.
Space in the SABCS 2026 scientific program is limited, and only high-impact clinical trials or scientific research will be considered as late-breaking abstracts. Data must be newly generated after July 13, 2026, and must not be published or presented prior to the symposium, December 8-11. Encore presentations are not permitted, with the exception of clinical trials.
For 49 years, SABCS has brought together a multidisciplinary global audience of researchers, clinicians, patient advocates, industry representatives, and others committed to advancing breast cancer care worldwide. In 2025, more than 11,000 attendees from more than 100 countries participated in this scientific exchange.
A record-breaking 2,324 abstracts were submitted for consideration during the regular abstract submission period for SABCS 2026, reflecting continued growth in scientific submissions in recent years.
“The science we bring forward is at the heart of this symposium,” said Kate Lathrop, MD, program director, San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium, and breast oncologist at UT Health San Antonio. “Every discovery has the potential to move the field forward, and the sooner we share those discoveries, the sooner they can reach patients.”
SABCS draws national and international media coverage of practice-changing advances across basic, translational, and clinical breast cancer research. Selected high-impact and high-interest abstracts are featured as part of the symposium’s daily press program curated by the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), a co-sponsor of SABCS.
Accepted abstracts, with limited exceptions, will be published on the SABCS website, the SABCS virtual platform, and in Proceedings, an online-only supplement to the AACR journal Clinical Cancer Research.
