Join the global breast cancer community at the 49th annual San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium®, December 8-11 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Each year, SABCS brings together more than 11,000 basic and translational scientists, multidisciplinary clinicians, regulatory and pharmaceutical partners, survivors, and advocates for four days of scientific presentations, educational sessions, panel discussions, and networking opportunities.
Registration is currently underway exclusively via SABCS.org. In-person and virtual registration options are available, with early-bird rates extending through September 25. Additional discounts may apply to certain registrant categories, group packages, and special hotel accommodations.
The symposium spans the full spectrum of breast cancer research and care, from experimental biology and etiology to prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and the lived experience of breast cancer.
What sets SABCS apart is the exchange of ideas across those disciplines, said Kate Lathrop, MD, SABCS program director and associate professor at the Mays Cancer Center at UT Health San Antonio.
“You can’t advance cancer care if you have the surgeons in one place and the radiation oncologists in one place and the medical oncologists in one place. It doesn’t work that way. You really have to sit in the same room,” she said. “We generally can only understand about 10% to 20% of each other’s technical language, but the edges of that overlap are where discoveries are.”
The SABCS 2026 program reflects that multidisciplinary approach, with sessions focused on some of the most pressing questions and emerging areas in breast cancer research and care.
Among this year’s highlights are special sessions on integrating lifestyle medicine into breast cancer care, emerging vaccine technologies for prevention, and global perspectives on care from population risk to precision medicine.
New workshops will give attendees hands-on practice with artificial intelligence-based advances in pathology, as well as alternative methods for breast cancer research beyond animal models.
The program will also explore some of the field’s most closely watched areas, including biomarker-driven therapies, circulating tumor DNA and minimal residual disease monitoring, surgical de-escalation, and the evolving use and sequencing of antibody-drug conjugates.

All registrants will have access to livestreamed sessions and on-demand recordings, while those attending in San Antonio will have additional opportunities to connect with colleagues and the broader SABCS community.
The SABCS Exhibition Hall will feature industry exhibits, poster sessions, and the Patient Advocacy Pavillion. Dedicated gathering spaces will be reserved for early-career attendees and patient advocates.
Additional educational and networking opportunities will take place throughout the week, including the annual SABCS Celebration and affiliate programs at the convention center and nearby hotels.
